Back in the Insta-world!

Posted on Updated on

Hello, Write Edge readers! Here in Central Illinois, it’s a dreary, rainy day. If that’s the case where you are (or if it’s not and, you know, you’ve come to enjoy my Instagram page :D), head on over to see my latest pics. You can find them with my handle, @EktaRGarg, or on my Facebook author page (where there’s other fun stuff too.)

Have a wonderful weekend, readers (and don’t forget your umbrellas)!

Fall is peeking around the corner…

Posted on Updated on

Hello, Write Edge readers! I don’t know how many of you are seeing fall temps yet, but we’re finally getting them in Central Illinois. I just checked the 10-day forecast, and it looks like the weather will hold in fall temperatures…for now.

Just because the weather is changing, though, doesn’t mean other things have to change (well, not much anyway. There’s always the hope that a person will improve in certain areas, accomplish goals, etc., which, technically would be a change…but I digress.) 😀

In any case, let’s start our week. First, our inspirational quote. You know, the hard maths and sciences are so essential to our world, and the arts are just as essential. The former deal with the tangible, every-day aspects of living; the latter deal with our emotions. Our hearts. Our selves.

“We read books to find out who we are.”—Ursula K. Le Guin

And now on to this week’s short story. I had fun with this one, and I hope you do too. Here’s a quick excerpt:

Harper stopped walking at that one and cocked an eye at the reporter. “You mean like a bribe?”

The woman—the girl—swallowed hard. Her smile wavered for a minute, but she didn’t let it slip all the way. Instead she pushed her smart phone closer to his face.

On Wednesday you’ll get a brand new book review from me. I read Scars Like Wings by YA author Erin Stewart. Find out in the middle of the week on The Write Edge Bookshelf what I thought of it!

Lastly, this Friday we’re back to Instagram. Be sure to check out my previous Insta-pics on the app with my handle, @EktaRGarg, or on my Facebook author page (where there’s all sorts of other fun stuff too that’s unique to Facebook.)

Have a fantastic week, readers!
