The last full week of May!

Posted on

Hello, Write Edge readers! While it’s later than I would have liked, I’m back on track with my posting schedule today. Yay for sheer determination! 😀

It’s the last full week of May. Honestly, they should do a whole presentation in kindergarten about the fact that when you get older, time moves faster. Who knew we would be looking at the end of the school year already?

I have this week’s short story for you. Here’s the little excerpt:

If no one knew about the stuff he did to Gaby—and maybe other girls—at least he would get punished for something. But it wasn’t Mr. Parsons, and the missing girl stayed missing.

This week, I have a brand new book review for you of a novel that’s coming out later this summer. Bestselling author and screenwriter Blake Crouch has a new book due out in June. Find out what I thought of Upgrade on Wednesday on The Write Edge Bookshelf!

Also on the Bookshelf, this Thursday find the final installment of this quarter’s Thursday R.E.A.D.s. I’ve been taking a deep dive into Chris Hauty’s Storm Rising, book three in the Hayley Chill series. Check out the last thoughts I have for this book analysis later this week.

And then, finally, at the end of the week, find out what’s going on in my corner of the parenting world on Growth Chart!

Stay safe, do good, and take care of each other, readers!

“Gentlemen, [s]he’s on a hat trick!”

Happy Friday, readers! If any of you are a Bollywood fan and saw the movie Lagaan more than once, you might recognize the line of dialogue in the title there. Today I’m sharing not one, not two, but three pieces of regular Write Edge content.

I’m still a little giddy myself that I’ve been able to do this, especially after missing posts for two weeks. :>

First, Instagram. Find out what I’m reading this week, what I’m getting up to next week, and more. You can see the thumbnail preview posts here on the home, go straight to Instagram and find me with my handle, @EktaRGarg, or check out the posts on my Facebook author page. However you find them, take a look and give me a shout-out!

Next, Growth Chart. I’m sharing some thoughts on what it means when one of the kids travel without us. Here’s a quick excerpt:

I tried not to focus too much on those really bad things. Instead, as I wrote out a list of phone numbers to tuck into her wallet, I let myself concede that the list was probably a symptom of my over-cautious parenting self.

Lastly, I’ve posted my latest episode of Biblio Breakdown. In this semi-regular podcast, I take a book, examine it based on a particular theme, then share analysis and writing exercises for you to implement in your own writing. The newest episode just dropped today. Check it out now on my author website!

And now I’m off to enjoy the rest of the evening with another book. Take care of each other and yourselves, readers!

Growth Chart and Instagram posts!

Happy Friday, Write Edge readers! It’s a blustery one here today in Central Illinois, but I have a brand new Growth Chart and new Instagram posts to cheer you up. First, this month’s Growth Chart. Here’s a quick excerpt:

“MY PHONE ARRIVED AT 10:23 THIS MORNING. I AM COMING HOME SOON TO CLAIM IT.”

“Why are you shouting at me?”

“LET ME SPIT INTO A TUBE REAL FAST AND I WILL COME HOME AND EXPLAIN,” she wrote back.

Also, new Instagram posts show you what I’m reading and a fun exhibit here in town. Check those out with my handle, @EktaRGarg, or on my Facebook author page (you can see the previews of them here on the home page too.)

Have a great weekend, and take care of each other and yourselves, readers!
