Time for Christmas Vacation

Hello, Write Edge readers!  Yes, it’s true.  I’m taking Christmas vacation for the next two weeks for several reasons.  Don’t worry, I’ll still be here and checking in with the blog, but with the kids being out of school and family coming to town, I felt it only fair that I give of myself to them 100 percent so that when everyone went back to their respective places I could come back and give of myself to you 100 percent.

But have no fear.  When I have a few spare minutes here and there, I’ll continue working on the promised changes for the second anniversary of The Write Edge.  I think you’ll like them and hope you find them as exciting as I do.

And for those of you who have yet to check Facebook (or who, like a few people I know, aren’t even on the gargantuan network,) keep your eyes out for the Rachael Ray show on Friday, January 6, 2012.  Yours truly is going to be on for a 30-second spot!!  Don’t worry, I’ll remind you again before the big day arrives, and more details will come in a couple of weeks as to how I even got on the show in the first place.  And, curiously enough, it has to do with that social network we mentioned a minute ago.

Have a wonderful holiday, readers!  I’ll miss you and think of you often.  Please keep those comments and positive feedback coming, and even if you have negative feedback — I want to hear it!  Any constructive ideas can only make The Write Edge better.

Here’s to a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Book Review Up!

Good morning, Write Edge readers!  We’re in the middle of the week before Christmas — it’s holiday madness around here, and I’m sure you all are experiencing it to the same extent I am.  But in the middle of all the madness, it’s important to take a few minutes and enjoy something.  Have fun.  Relax.  And to that end, a good book can go a long way.

So I have another book recommendation for you, readers.  Please click above on “BookEnds” for my thoughts on Cross the Line by Rie McGaha.  This e-book takes readers back to the days of post-Civil War America, when the images and consequences of slavery appeared around every corner and in the flesh.  For those of you who enjoy historical romances, be sure to read my review and then (if it sounds like a good idea) the book.

Have a great rest of the week, readers.  See you back here on Friday!

The Perils — and Joys — of Technology

Good afternoon, Write Edge readers!  Thanks to a technical glitch (otherwise known as, Ekta wasn’t paying attention and posted the information in the wrong place yesterday because she was so excited about it,) many of you probably didn’t realize the latest “Growth Chart” is up along with the next installment of American Kismet in “A Writer’s Heartbeats.”  My apologies for my stupidity!

In any case, as promised I’ve posted the latest “Growth Chart,” so click above for that.  It’s an extra-special one this time around, and please rest assured that any resemblance to any actual people or events is only — well, somewhat coincidental. :>  This piece is fictional.  More or less.

Raj and Priya have just encountered a life-changing event in their friendship.  How are they coping?  Click on “A Writer’s Heartbeats” to find out and offer them your sympathy.

And I have a brand new interview with Priyanka Chopra for all of you Bollywood fans in “Bollywood News.”  Chopra stars alongside Shahrukh Khan in Don 2 due out in theaters on Dec. 23.  This interview comes courtesy of the Box Office Guru.  Click above to see what the former beauty queen has to say about her newest film and co-star.

Once again, thanks for your patience with me, readers.  I’m so glad I get to share my writing and thoughts with you this way.  Enjoy all the new content, and have a wonderful week!
